ABOUT JASON HUGHES

Overall I have over 30 years of experience in Technology & Finance experience working mainly for banks and financial institutions around the globe.After leaving college I worked as a COBOL, CICS/DB2 consultant, traveling extensively while working for many clients across the UK, Europe and North Africa. I joined Morgan Stanley in their London Office initially in the Technology department working with their Finance group to facilitate operational, management and external reporting. I transitioned into the Finance department shortly after joining the Firm and broadened my skillset to take in the broad Controllership roles. While I London I worked in Settlements for the Equities area.I transferred from London to New York to take on roles in Management Reporting and Corporate Reporting, working in the Corporate Consolidation team. Over the span of almost 20 years I worked across Institutional Securities, Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Fixed Income. I held roles as a Legal Entity Controller, worked with and managed both Internal and External Reporting teams and carried out Project Management roles for major Finance projects across the Firm. The largest major project I undertook was the selection, definition and implementation of an ERP to replace Morgan Stanley\'s existing General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and Consolidation applications. I worked on and lead teams throughout the lifecycle of this program from Vendor Selection of SAP, process blueprinting, through implementation of the SAP General Ledger & Consolidation Application (BPC).During this time I returned to the UK for 13 months to take a lead role in the UK implementation process.I joined SAP in April 2016 as a Solution Advisor in order to use the experience I had gained to assist other companies through the process of transition to a Finance Transformation. Working with the Sales teams I have carried out many successful demonstrations and acted as a Solution Captain for numerous opportunities. I have risen to be a Principal Solution Advisor in Financial Services for SAP.I am a Subject Matter Expert in Finance functions for financial institutions, Consolidation functions & processes and in Financial Reporting (Management, Regulatory and Statutory).
