About Jason Chan

Jason is a licensed registered nurse with the California State Board of Nursing and is certified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. His nursing education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from San Francisco State University and a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois as a Nurse Executive. His critical care knowledge and experience with ECMO comes from providing over a decade of direct patient care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit at a tertiary care hospital. Jason’s nursing career also includes experience as an Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor, Ventricular Assist Device Coordinator, Nursing House Supervisor and Clinical Nurse Manager.Jason’s unique background in medical transport, ECMO, critical care nursing and nursing leadership makes him the perfect person to see past the barriers and envision a future where ECLS/ECMO is easily accessible and well educated upon, leading to a decrease in over all mortality and an improvement in the outcomes of those who do survive. An interesting fact about Jason is that he is certified through the United States Coast Guard as a Master Captain and uses his certification to take people out fishing on the Pacific Ocean.
