ABOUT JASON CAIRNS

I am a very open and honest person, I work conscientiously and diligently in order to complete any given task. I also enjoy working within a team and can converse with people of all levels, I feel I have excellent communication skills, which helps me work with a large spectrum of colleagues. I have a lot of personal drive in that I wish to progress within my career for the betterment of my family and myself. I believe I am an asset to any organisation and strive to do my upmost in whatever role I play.Over the years I have played a major part in developing the Production/Operations departments within the companies that I have worked for. Arla: I was involved in the initial set up of Cell Teams within Arla, Lock, I instigated the Continuous Improvement program that we had at Arla Lockerbie and was developed further across the business.I was the driver behind trying to achieve the award of Best Factory from Cranfield University, where on 2010 results we achieved a “Highly Commended” in the Judges Special Award section, and in 2011 we achieved a \"Highly Commended\" in Best Household Product.I was involved in the site becoming the first Dairy facility in the UK to achieve a Morrisons “Adding Value” award, which backed up the progress we made in terms of Continuous Improvement. I also achieved the accolade of “Cream of the Crop” for Arla Foods UK for my work involved in coaching & mentoring, and was interviewed by “Works Management” for my work within the manufacturing sector – which was published in June 2012. Agri: During my time working for AB Agri I took on the role of Operations Manager for the site at Langwathby. This was a start-up site and I was involved from the start in relation to installation, commissioning to BAU. This included full implimentation of legal certification, recruitment and budgetary control - a thoroughly rewarding role where the site continues to strive forward.McBride: Another Plant Manager role where key deliverables during my period was the delivery of a brand new multi-million pound production line from installation, commissioning and product placement into market. Full site budgetary control meant tight control of costs and year on year reduction of these during my period across many different aspects.
