Co-advise a school of 700+ undergraduate journalism students to empower their decision-making with their academic and career experiences. This includes degree planning, registration, major/minor selection, double majoring, inter-school transfers, course planning, and graduation petitions. Support academic progress of 200 students through graduation preparation, application and referrals to graduate schools, and leading students toward self-discovery and career development. Lead advising for Northwestern\'s Bridge program facilitating the successful transition of 15 first-year students each summer. This program caters to those who identify as first generation, lower income, students of color, and/or have limited AP/IB preparation. Provide guidance to the National Association of Black Journalists, consisting of 13 student leaders, to foster community, belonging, and leadership among Black-identifying students at Medill. Coordinate and present 40 in-house Medill programs annually.Collaborate with over 20 campus partners and university resources.Led 10 domestic and international student journalism and professional development trips.

As an educator and advocate for equity, I bring 15 years of experience in community justice, 8 years in business, and 5 years in higher education to foster inclusive and empowering learning environments. My mission is to develop strong relationships across diverse cultures and backgrounds, serving as a trusted resource, advisor, and advocate for students.Currently, as an Academic Adviser at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, I counsel over 200 undergraduate students, guiding them through academic and career planning, and supporting their journey to graduation. I lead initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion, such as the Bridge program for first-generation and lower-income students and the National Association of Black Journalists student chapter.My background in business, combined with my commitment to social justice, allows me to identify and address systemic barriers within educational institutions.
