ABOUT JASMIN FUNG
I grew up in my family’s little quaint Chinese restaurant in Los Angeles, CA, a space where I learned the value of hard work, community, and empathy from behind the counter. Watching my family serve others taught me early on that care and connection are powerful forces that can uplift entire communities.That foundation inspired me to pursue higher education as a first-generation college graduate. To have earned my B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Legal Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz, I’ve dedicated my studies to understanding how systems shape people’s lives, and how compassion and policy can work together to create change.Whether I’m engaging with community members, supporting a team, or analyzing policy, I step into every space with empathy, curiosity, and a drive to bring others up with me. My goal is to continue working in community-centered and mission driven spaces, creating pathways for equity, dignity, and opportunity for all.
