The Berkeley Free Clinic is a cooperatively run clinic that has been providing free quality and holistic medical services in the Bay Area since 1969. We operate on the belief that healthcare is a human right, and aim to empower communities by providing accessible, client-centered health services and information. I have completed six months of training to become a medic working 7 hour shifts weekly and:• Run appointments and physical exams for clients facing dermatological concerns, minor wounds and burns, upper respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and genitourinary concerns• Counsel and educate clients on pregnancy, STIs, and a variety of other medical concerns; consult and develop treatment plans with licensed medical professionals• Administer TB tests, flu shots, and tetanus boosters; chart all client encounters using EHR/EMR
