About Jarvis Escott
Jarvis Escott is the President & Founder of First Impressions Marketing Group. Mr. Escott is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Escott graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2003 with a degree in Marketing. While at UAB, Mr. Escott served as Undergraduate Student Body president and student representative to the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees. After college, Mr. Escott worked in the banking and sales industries. In April 2007, Mr. Escott founded First Impressions Marketing Group LLC, a company specializing in event planning, promotions, market research, and consulting. Mr. Escott named his company \"First Impressions\" because he believes that in marketing \"first Impression\" is everything. The company has marketed and advertised over businesses & events in the Birmingham, AL area and the southeast since 2007. In 2010, Mr. Escott launched WhatsHappeningBirmingham.com website. In 2012, Mr. Escott received the \"Entrepreneur Spotlight\" award from the Birmingham Business Journal. In 2013, Mr. Escott received the Birmingham Business Journal Top 40 under 40 and Wells Fargo Best in Minority Business Awards. He launched What\'s Happening Birmingham App in 2013 for Android and iPhone. He is a past member of Leadership UAB 2014 class. In 2015, he started teaching daily social media marketing classes to small business owners in the Birmingham area. In March 2017, he was named to Birmingham Business Journal\'s Executives of Influence. In 2018, he started the What\'s Happening Birmingham Podcast in which he interviews local, state and national newsmakers. He is a graduate of the Chief Marketing Officer Institute 20••••19 class. Mr. Escott has been a licensed notary public for the state of Alabama since 2004. In 2021, Mr. Escott\'s company completed the Roots Capacity Building Program and gained certifications from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs Office of Minority Business Enterprise and sam.gov as a certified minority owned business. He is a past member of Oasis Counseling and Literacy Council of Central Alabama junior boards. He is currently a member of the Trussville Chamber of Commerce and Birmingham Association of Black Journalists. Finally, Mr. Escott is a member of Calvary Resurrection Christian Church.
