About Jarvis Chen

As a biomedical engineering undergraduate at Case Western Reserve University, I am passionate about medical devices and prosthetics. My interest in this field started when I designed a simple dog wheelchair for my poodle, Donut, who suffered a spinal cord injury. Since then, I have pursued various opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge in this domain. One of these opportunities is my current role as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute, where I work on CellX, a device that automates cell imaging and stem cell picking for in vitro culturing. I have designed experiments, analyzed data, and applied tissue culturing plate (TCP) surface data on Matlab for contour mapping and TCP evaluation. I have also contributed to a publication in AACR Cancer Immunology Research and presented at the HSPA Student Academic Symposium in 2020.In addition to my research experience, I have gained proficiency in different programming languages, such as Python, MATLAB, R, Java, and System Verilog, as well as technical writing skills, analog circuit design, laboratory techniques, and software tools, such as ImageJ, AutoCAD, and LTspice. I have also demonstrated team leadership as the recruitment chair in Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. My goal is to continue developing my skills and contribute to the field of prosthetics and BCI. I am open to any positions relating to medical devices, biomaterials, programming, and circuit design. I love connecting with people on LinkedIn, so feel free to send me a request and let\'s see how we can help each other.
