ABOUT JARROD FOGAL
Passionate about customers, innovation, as well as implementing change to create \'real’ value by leading collaboratively in multifaceted retail, producer and dynamic environments. I offer more than a decade of progressive agribusiness experience and education, including my MBA, B.Sc, and crop advisor certification, to Richardson Pioneer. I have an affinity for applying data solutions to improve sustainability, traceability, and to increase harvest value and crop profitability for Pioneer’s national customer base. My blended field and business experience garners a deep understanding for the value in advanced farm data management solutions such as mapping, remote sensing, machine learning, and variable rate technology, namely utilizing digital management technology based on georeferenced information for the control of agricultural systems. Being raised on a family-owned, acre mixed cattle and grain farm in southern Saskatchewan, I gained extensive experience in all agronomic operations and crop management requirements; the farm produced all varieties of cereals, pulses, oil seeds, as well as networked with many agricultural corporations. I obtained my B.Sc. in Agricultural Chemistry from the University of Saskatchewan focusing on a holistic understanding for soil fertility, agronomy, crop nutrients and crop protection, which led to working with BayerCrop Science in both Canada and Australia following graduation. With Bayer Australia, I led the initiative for an ‘in the field’ approach to conduct seed trials over an expansive area in southeastern Australia as a Trait Development Lead Agronomist for InVigor canola. Shifting gears, I pursued an entrepreneurial venture in the oil and gas industry as a Well-Site Consultant by establishing my own company, Outback Exploration, which worked across oil and gas reserves in Canada, as well as coal seam methane fields in Australia. In 2015, I earned my Master’s in Business Administration from the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) in Berlin, Germany. Returning to agriculture, I then joined Richardson Pioneer as a Sales Agronomist quickly advancing to Provincial Agronomist, Digital Ag Specialist, Digital Ag Manager, Director of Digital Ag and now Senior Director of Agronomy and Digital Ag where I bridge agronomy and technology by developing balanced and practical solutions for growers.
