ABOUT JARRETT K. LAVASSEUR
I am a Nuclear industry leader with twenty years of power plant experience in both military and commercial industries. I have earned two Senior Reactor Operator licenses, one (active) at TVA Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, and the other at Exelon Braidwood Nuclear Station. I am currently the Watts Bar Operations Procedures Manager and Emergency Operating Instruction Program Coordinator. In this role I am the station\'s representative, and active member of, the Pressurized Water Reactor Owners Group Procedures Subcommittee. Most recently I leveraged this role to upgrade the Watts Bar Emergency Operating Instruction Program to PWROG Emergency Response Guideline revision 3+, incorporating all 38 associate Direct Work Items, instituting a brand new Emergency Abnormal Procedure set for supplemental operations, and creation of accompanying Plant-specific Technical Guidelines. Prior to that I authored and implemented an industry leading Prompt Response Program of procedures aimed at increasing safety margins and simplifying prompt actions used to manage certain limiting transients in the main control room. I have experience as the Outage Unit Supervisor for three outages including a mid-cycle steam generator inspection outage that required hot mid-loop operation, and a steam generator replacement outage. I also have experience over four outages as a Surveillance Testing Supervisor, with specific expertise in 10CFR50, Appendix J, Containment Leak Rate testing. I am currently one of five core group members of the Watts Bar First-line Leadership Team, an outspoken and cross-functionally engaging member of the Operations Leadership team, and a passionate pursuer of continuous improvement. My foundation in Nuclear began with eleven years of service in the U.S. Navy as an Electrical Operator and Prototype Training Instructor, qualified senior-in-rate and Load Dispatcher on CVN 77, USS George H.W. Bush, qualified Engineering Officer of the Watch at the MARF Prototype, Ballston Spa, NY, and culminating in promotion to Chief Petty Officer.
