ABOUT JARIAH WALKER
As the Executive Director of the Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority (CSURA) for over seven years, I lead the financing and implementation of projects that restore and enhance targeted areas of the city. I have a mission to encourage private investment and reinvestment that strengthens the tax base of the whole city and creates strong community benefits. With my core competencies in public relations, politics, and real estate, I advance sound urban planning and design, fiscal prudence, and cultural sensitivity through partnerships and collaboration. Some of the major initiatives that I have overseen include the Colorado Regional Tourism Act funds for the United States Olympic Museum and Hall of Fame, the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center, the Weidner Field soccer stadium, and the Robson Arena ice hockey venue. These projects not only create opportunities for tourism, education, sports, and entertainment, but also reflect my passion for building balanced, sustainable, and vibrant environments where people live, work, and come together as a community. I am also actively involved in various organizations that promote downtown and economic development, leadership and ethics, and diversity and inclusion.
