About Jared Johnson

As the Associate Vice President for Academic Technology and Customer Experience at The George Washington University, I lead the strategic direction and operational execution of IT service and academic technology initiatives that enhance the university\'s mission, vision, and values. With more than 19 years of experience in the higher education sector, I have a proven track record of delivering customer-focused, innovative, and cost-effective solutions that support teaching, learning, research, and administration.My core competencies include digital transformation and emerging technologies, organizational design and change management, project planning and execution, budget management, CRM and ERP strategy, business partnership and collaboration, operational continuity and disaster recovery, cybersecurity and data privacy, and IT policy development. I have also earned industry certifications in ITIL, ScrumMaster, and change management, as well as an MBA from the GWU School of Business. I am passionate about leveraging technology to create positive impact and value for the university community and beyond.

   As a member of the EDUCAUSE Nominations and Leadership Development Committee, I contribute to strengthening the association’s governance by helping to identify, develop, and nominate qualified candidates for the EDUCAUSE Board of Directors. Our committee is charged by the Board with continuously refining and executing a fair, inclusive, and strategic nominations process. In this role, I also support leadership development efforts that prepare emerging and established professionals for future governance opportunities within EDUCAUSE.
