With 10+ years of experience in engineering, I have worked in the planning, design, and construction of a wide variety of infrastructure projects. My 5+ years of experience working in academic research settings have also given me opportunities to study the physical and biological interactions of emerging environmental contaminants. In my current role as an air quality engineer for the Oregon DEQ, my focus is on ensuring clean air and a healthy environment for all Oregonians.I am passionate about environmental preservation and protecting the health of the public. These interests led me to focus my academic research on the risks and toxicological impacts of nanoscale pollutants. I am an advocate for improving science communication to more effectively relay important information to the public. My professional career has provided me with experience in designing state-of-the-art infrastructure and assessing the health risks associated with industrial projects, while my academic pursuits have allowed me to share my knowledge and experiences with the next generation of engineers.In my personal life I enjoy traveling and seeing different parts of the world, playing music, and practicing photography. My dream is that my work can benefit communities near and far, and that I can support others who are looking to make a positive difference.
