ABOUT JARED BARTMAN

Styles come and go. Good design is a language, not a style.” – Massimo Vignelli, designer This quote perfectly sums up how I felt when I began learning about design; that I was gaining access to a beautiful, elegant, complex, and functional language I had only previously been vaguely aware of. I’m Jared Bartman, a product designer based in Peoria, Illinois. I’ve always been drawn to the arts—I’ve particularly enjoyed a boundless preoccupation with music and reading fiction since I was a child. Design has always been on the periphery of my interests, and it wasn’t until very recently that I realized I possessed a passion for design that rivals the excitement I feel for music and writing. I began my design journey in February 2020 with the intensive UX Academy bootcamp via Designlab. Recently graduated from Designlab, I\'m actively searching for employment as a product designer. I’m passionate about beautiful visual design and intuitive, usable products that allow people to interface with the world in a way that inspires user creativity and promotes positive social impact. Whether I’m ideating on a fresh interface for a trusted book recommendation app, envisioning an elegant responsive website for an insurance company, or helping a local news organization build a new e-commerce website to gain new subscribers, I have a I have a user-centered mindset from start to finish. I revel in translating research findings into interfaces that meet users\' needs and exceed their usability expectations. I bring creativity, personality, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills to all my work and interactions, with a singular ability to manage my time and prioritize tasks within an established structure. I believe that work is transformative—and work which melds beautiful visual design with solid usability is well worth the undertaking. In my free time, you can find me reading books, writing fiction, making music in my band Moon Ruin, running, and spending time with my family and friends.
