ABOUT JARED SHEARMAN

I am an experienced insurance litigation attorney and former Assistant District Attorney; I’ve handled a vast array of insurance litigation on both sides of the “v.” I practice in the areas of general and commercial insurance claims and litigation in state and federal courts across Louisiana, with a focus on disaster relief and personal injury cases. I have represented clients in the following practice areas: auto accidents, trucking and transportation, oil and gas, wrongful death and survival actions, construction defect, property damage, and commercial/contractual disputes. I have represented clients in cases involving catastrophic and devastating injuries stemming from incidents ranging from automobile accidents to an explosion of a wet oil tank on a platform in the Gulf of Mexico. I handle all phases of litigation from initial client meeting to trial and have substantial experience in fact investigation, written discovery, conducting and defending depositions, and drafting and arguing contested motions. As a prosecutor in New Orleans, I was the leader in first chair (and solo first chair) judge trial victories in my department. I was also the leader in solo first chair domestic violence judge trials and am the first known prosecutor to successfully convince an Orleans Parish court to hold a dangerous defendant without bond until trial despite being charged only with one misdemeanor count of violating a protective order (See State of Louisiana v. Clarence Santiago). During this time, I gained significant experience in taking cases from first appearance to conviction at trial. I found particular success in the cross-examination of fact witnesses at trial. As an attorney at Maron Marvel, I had the privilege of representing many well-known clients throughout all stages of litigation. I will not broadcast their names in accordance with the firm’s policy. After leaving Maron Marvel, I spent a short time with The Law Offices of Greg DiLeo until the COVID-19 pandemic and also worked as a litigation associate attorney for Brian T. Carr & Associates for a short time before lunching my own law firm handling civil and criminal litigation. The firm also served as Louisiana counsel for The Moore Law Firm and Weisser Elazar & Kantor PLLC handling first-party property claims and litigation before accepting my current position handling first-party property claims and litigation for Hair Shunnarah Trial Attorneys (d/b/a Insurance Claim HQ).
