About Jared Preyer

I value strong connections, education, and team leadership in defense, technology, and space enabled industries. My path has been shaped by work that demanded discipline, service, and follow through, starting as a lawn care professional and later as an enlisted Security Forces member. Those roles taught me how to operate to a standard, communicate clearly, and stay composed when stakes or pressure rise.Since transitioning into higher education and professional development, I have focused on leading and building teams. As an AFROTC member and later as a Newton Fellow, I strengthened my ability to mentor peers, coordinate priorities, and ensure outcomes while balancing competing demands. In the TAP Lab, I contributed to space force related mission areas and gained exposure to the rigor required for mission critical systems, where reliability, documentation, and teamwork are non-negotiable. Across these experiences, I have learned that effective leadership/followership is less about authority and more about trust, preparation, and consistent execution.Looking forward, I am committed to pursuing a master’s degree in a space related discipline and building a career at the intersection of national security and advanced technology. I am motivated by environments where people are mission driven, technically curious, and accountable to each other. I am also intentional about building professional relationships, because strong networks create better teams and better opportunities to serve. Above all, I aim to stay curious, keep learning, and lead in ways that elevate the people around me.
