Investigate, analyze, evaluate and negotiate property claims, commercial claims, and assist with liability claims• Responsible for all aspects of each claim including outside field inspection, while maintaining a high level of productivity, confidentiality and customer service• Implement and coordinate the most effective management techniques to mitigate loss and expense payments• Prepare accurate estimates by utilizing Xactimate estimating system, replacement research results and contractor data to establish fair and competitive pricing within Fair Claims Acts• Examine claims forms, policies and endorsements, client instructions and other records to determine coverages• Investigate claims by interviewing claimants and witnesses, by obtaining official reports, by inspecting physical damage, and by comparing claim information with evidence• Enter claim payments, reserves and new claims on computer system, inputting concise yet sufficient file documentation. • Set loss reserves or provide reserve recommendations• Pay and process claims within designated authority level. • Settle claims by determining insurance carrier’s liability, client’s instructions and authority levels required by obtaining demands and making offers to claimants, issuing settlement checks, making filings with regulatory agencies, disposing of salvage, pursuing subrogation when appropriate• Maintain and control additional living expense exposure• Recommend litigation when appropriate• Examine claims investigated by insurance adjusters and ensure that adjusters have followed proper methods.• Report overpayments, underpayments, and other irregularities. • Present cases and participate in their discussion at officer and claims meetings. • Completes factual reports in a timely manner with company corporate standards and state regulations.• Train junior adjusters with claims handling• Participate in special projects and perform duties in other areas as requested
