ABOUT JARED ESPINOZA
I’m a Mechanical Engineering student at Moorpark College who enjoys turning ideas into real, working things. I’ve always been someone who likes to understand how systems work, whether that’s a machine, a structure, or a process, and then figure out how to improve it.A lot of my interest in engineering comes from hands on experiences. I enjoy building and designing projects, working with CAD tools like SolidWorks, and learning through problem solving. Recently I’ve been working on projects like a model rocket, mechanical builds, and other prototypes that help me apply what I’m learning in physics and engineering courses.Outside the classroom, I work as a course embedded tutor for math and physics, where I help other students break down difficult concepts and build confidence in technical subjects. Teaching has helped me strengthen my own understanding while also developing communication and leadership skills.I’m also very involved in sports and coaching. I’ve been a lifeguard, swim instructor, and junior coach, and I was captain of my high school swim and water polo teams. Those experiences taught me discipline, teamwork, and how to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations.Looking ahead, I plan to transfer to a university to complete my Mechanical Engineering degree and continue developing skills in design, systems thinking, and problem solving. I’m especially interested in opportunities where engineering can create practical solutions and have a real impact on people’s lives.I’m always excited to connect with other engineers, students, and professionals who enjoy building, learning, and solving problems.
