ABOUT JARED BARKMAN
I am a recent JD/MBA graduate from the University of Toronto. My background is in policy and economics, with my graduate dissertation research at the London School of Economics focused on international trade policy. Through several years of working on the business services side of large global law firms I developed a keen interest in corporate law, which I am excited to put into practice at Freshfields LLP. My favourite things are getting lost in a new city, reading the print copy of a Saturday morning paper, and discovering a brilliant new restaurant. Much of my free time is spent poring over travel logistics (for myself and others)—making spreadsheets of train journeys and interesting hotels, memorizing flight routes, and navigating Air Canada’s incredibly convoluted eUpgrade program. If you want to know which wine bar to visit on a London or New York business trip or how to snag a discounted lie-flat seat on your next red-eye, my response may at least be more personal (if not more expedient) than your ChatGPT output.
