About Jarad Schiffer
Jarad Schiffer is the Advisor for Laboratory Preparedness in the Center for Preparedness and Response. He has over 20 years of hands on and managerial experience in disease diagnostics and vaccine clinical trials. He has developed a broad range of experience, starting as a bench scientist before moving into statistical analysis, information management systems, quality management and laboratory management. Previously a laboratory chief at the CDC, he had productive collaborations with private partners in the pharmaceutical industry, other government agencies (BARDA, NIAID and NIH), and has successfully brought products through the FDA approvals process. His laboratory became the go-to laboratory for rapid and effective emergency response at the CDC thanks to their efficient process management systems that can be applied to a diverse range of problems and diseases.
