ABOUT JANOS GOENCZOEL

Janos Goenczoel has been a partner at the advisory firm Brunswick Group since 2010. He was appointed European Managing Partner in 2019. He specializes in advising companies in critical situations in which communications play an essential role in securing business outcomes, including mergers and acquisitions, crises, restructurings, as well as compliance and litigation cases. He advises large German and international clients as well as SMEs. On cross-border and global mandates, he works closely with Partner colleagues in other regions – leveraging Brunswick’s “One Firm Firm” approach to its full potential. He builds on a wealth of experience spanning more than 30 years, both in consulting as well as in corporate leadership roles. Before joining Brunswick, Janos was Corporate Vice President and Global Head of Corporate Communications at Siemens. During a remarkably challenging period, he was responsible for external communications (media relations, branding, advertising, sponsoring, events) as well as internal communications (employee media, intranet, events) on a global scale. He was also in charge of Governance and Sustainability. Among other things, he led communications related to the company\'s major mergers and acquisitions with an investment volume of over 10 billion euros as well as major spin-offs (Nokia Siemens Networks). He was also responsible for communications during the company\'s largest-ever corruption scandal. Prior to Siemens, Janos Goenczoel was a member of the Executive Committee of Weber Shandwick, the world\'s largest PR agency at the time. Based in London, he was responsible for the company’s 6 European business units across 26 agencies in 11 countries. Before that, as a member of the board of BSMG Worldwide, he was in charge of its German operations, the then-second largest PR agency in Germany. From 1984 to he grew MPC, his consultancy for corporate communications, financial communications and Public Affairs, into the fourth-largest independent PR agency in Germany, which he then sold to BSMG Worldwide. Janos Goenczoel studied law in Paris and Munich. He is a registered Attorney at Law (“Rechtsanwalt”). He is a Hungarian and an American citizen. He speaks fluent German, English, French and Hungarian.
