ABOUT JANNIE K.
I am a first-generation Sierra Leonean American and college graduate with a passion for community organizing and development. Throughout my career, I strive to cultivate a sense of belonging by connecting with people, creating environments that foster inclusivity and creativity, and sharing my knowledge with others. As a global education and childcare policy professional, I have a focus in enhancing economic development in Sub-Saharan Africa. I previously supported the Office of Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE-00) in providing administrative support, as well as leading her US-Africa policy portfolio. My additional experience in education and economic issues includes working as a DEI specialist at Warner Music on global communication strategies and workforce development, serving as the first Black Woman Student Body President at Miami University, and developing research on the intersection of race and culture in the United States.
