Janna Starr is a sustainability-driven Project Manager at U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), where she oversees the seamless delivery of projects that advance sustainable building practices. Her current projects include the rollout of LEED v5, the creation of TRUE v2, supporting the project plan for the PERFORM portfolio-level metrics product, and platform improvements that revolutionize how buildings and communities are designed, built, and operated to foster healthier, more resilient environments.With credentials as a LEED AP BD+C and Sustainability Excellence Associate, Janna is passionate about integrating sustainability into project management, operational planning, and customer service. Before her current role, she served as a Certification Program Specialist at GBCI, where she helped implement the LEED Volume Program and provided account management for large-scale clients aiming for portfolio-level LEED certifications.Prior to USGBC, Janna was the Facilities & Events Manager and Sustainability Officer at the North Carolina Botanical Garden, which is a part of UNC Chapel Hill, where she managed public outreach events and the LEED Platinum-certified education center. In other work, she also spent time in New York City managing sustainable events and implementing recycling and compost programs for festivals and parades.Janna holds a dual degree in History and Sociology from Duquesne University.
