ABOUT JANNA HACHMANN

I am a curious and outgoing biochemist with a passion for meaningful biotech ventures that drive innovation in healthcare. As the COO and co-founder of Captain T Cell, I lead company operations and am involved in a wide range of management activities, including business development, strategic growth, and investor relations. Captain T Cell is pioneering next-generation, efficacy-enhanced T cell therapies for solid tumor patients who lack treatment options. One of our key innovations is a novel allogeneic platform designed to enable off-the-shelf T cell therapies. Originally a spin-off from the Max Delbrück Center in Berlin, Captain T Cell is now an independent company advancing cutting-edge immunotherapies.I hold a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in La Jolla, CA. My career has spanned roles in antibody discovery at InhibRx (San Diego), healthcare consulting for BMBF-funded projects, and technology transfer at the Berlin Institute of Health. At BIH, I helped shape Berlin Health Innovations, designing funding programs and commercialization strategies to accelerate the translation of research into market-ready solutions. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of both the scientific and operational aspects of bringing new biotech innovations to market.I thrive at the intersection of science, strategy, and entrepreneurship—driving innovations that make a real impact.
