ABOUT JAN GREEN
A Kansas native, Jan\'s full time career in real estate as a REALTOR® began January 2003 in the Phoenix Metro area. Earning a real estate license in 2002, after many years in finance, sustainability has been full-focus since 2008. Helping clients and consumers achieve lower energy bills, reduce water consumption, and living healthier lifestyles is a specialty. Jan\'s sustainability commitment extends beyond the usual boundaries of real estate transactions. She specializes in helping clients and consumers lower their energy bills, reduce water consumption, and embrace healthier lifestyles. Providing clients with essential insights on building science, health, and safety is a top priority for her. She understands the importance of indoor air quality, especially for individuals with current or past health issues, and is sensitive to the challenges posed by chemical sensitivities in homes. In the realm of selling homes, Jan takes a meticulous approach. She carefully evaluates every feature to ensure that each property is marketed accurately, optimizing its value. In some cases, homes may even earn certification through the prestigious Pearl certification program, provided they meet the criteria. Jan\'s expertise also includes understanding the value of owned solar panels, and she assists home sellers in leveraging these assets for the highest possible returns on their property investments. As an award-winning volunteer, Jan helped get more than 60 green features added to the Arizona Regional MLS. She created a multidisciplinary speaker panel that included a lender, appraiser, builder, energy auditor, realtor and utility provider to discuss how homes are built to higher standards and achieving value for high performance homes. The panel presentation was so effective that they were invited to speak to real estate professional organizations numerous times. The panel discussion morphed (since 2014) into what is now 3 hours Continuing Education in Disclosure for real estate professionals. The course is still offered several times a year for 3 Hours Disclosure Continuing Education Credit.AS a volunteer for the Residential Committee, US Green Building Council, she was integral in bringing a two-day appraiser education course to Arizona that taught critical details about how to properly appraise green real estate. The great interest in these 2 day courses resulted in them being offered 6 times in Arizona since 2013. Each time an appraiser takes all 4 days of courses, their names are added to the Green Registry on the Appraisal Institute website.
