ABOUT JANINE BERRIDGE
Hello - I am Janine: a passion-driven, results-focused leader with 15 years of experience in nonprofits, policy & communications, global development, program management, and fundraising. I thrive when designing and executing large-scale projects with complex work streams and when developing high-impact strategic partnerships. I\'m skilled in monitoring & evaluation and synthesizing complex research, but also storytelling and cross-cultural communications. For those who want to learn more, here is more about who I am: my passions, values, and interests. I care deeply about systemic change to improve our world and have dedicated most of my career to global development work and the pursuit of gender equality. I\'ve worked at the grassroots level through many early-career roles which taught me a great deal about the realities and opportunities of localized impact work. I now dedicate my skills in strategic partnership development, research and storytelling to leverage transformational change, whether through informing policy, advocating for culture change, or amplifying impactful organizations, their leaders and programs.I believe collaboration through coalitions and partnerships is more critical than ever, especially across sectors, and that we must act from a place of unity and cohesion and not competition or scarcity. I hope that my professional and personal contributions will help toward incremental progress, but understand that I may not see the outcomes I aspire toward in my lifetime as systemic change can be slow. Nonetheless, I believe in trying to leave the world better than when I arrived on it.I try to practice radical compassion, active listening, and intention in my work and life; my core values include authenticity, transparency, equity, accountability, humor, and humility. My heritage as a British- Gambian women from Wales is something I am proud of, as well as the role I play as a mother and co-parent with my daughter\'s father. I am an American immigrant and first-generation college student and integrate my lived experiences into my professional roles where helpful and relevant.Adjacent to my work, I am a mental health advocate, am passionate about mentorship, and promoting #collaborativedivorce as a peaceful and respectful alternative to litigation. I aspire to raise chickens, run a marathon, and finally learn how to garden!
