ABOUT JANINA BUTTKUS
I am an environmental and climate professional with international experience across Africa, Latin America, and Europe, working at the intersection of carbon markets, durable carbon dioxide removal (CDR), and sustainable land-use systems. My background spans ClimateTech consulting, international climate policy, and applied research, with a strong focus on biochar, CDR technologies, and high-integrity climate solutions.My work has included biochar pilot projects, carbon market and Article 6 research, and advisory roles supporting industrial and energy companies on decarbonization strategies. I enjoy translating complex technical and regulatory topics into actionable insights and building collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders. Driven by a strong interest in scaling durable CDR solutions, I am particularly motivated by projects that combine credible climate impact with real-world implementation and long-term value creation.I enjoy learning, building relationships, and contributing to high-integrity climate solutions that combine environmental impact with long-term value.
