About Janice Hicks

I am interested in advancing spirituality in health and medicine. For seven years, I have provided spiritual support to others as they face changes associated with aging, illness and dying. Some indicators of well-being I look for (in myself too!) include gratitude, blessing, and generosity. I have an interest in spirituality and dementia and am co-author of a book Redeeming Dementia: Spirituality, Science and Theology (Church Publishing, November 2018). In my previous profession of chemistry, I taught undergraduates and graduate students, served as an executive federal administrator, and mentored young scientists. In all my work, I have shown passion for inclusiveness and eliminating obstacles for any oppressed group, including LGBTQ people.
