Highlights below.*2021: In-conversation partner to Brené Brown for the ABA\'s Winter Institute Keynote*2018 & 2019: Amgen/Novartis (pharmaceutical companies) hired me to participate in their Migraine Blogger Summit.*2018: 1) Keynote speaker at the University of Georgia’s English Department’s commencement—there were approximately 400 in attendance.2) Recruited to be the last speaker of the night at the TEDxUGA event in Athens, GA—there were approximately 1600 people in the live audience and hundreds watching the event online.*2016: 1) Spoke on a panel about owning a small business in a conversation moderated by host/author Grace Bonney, founder of design*sponge and author of IN THE COMPANY OF WOMEN.2) Inaugural speaker in a new Friends of the Library (Athens-Clarke County) series, Innovators @ the Library. Spoke to attendees about conceiving and creating Avid Bookshop, challenges and benefits of opening a business in Athens-Clarke County, operating a business in the face of chronic illness, and more. Open Q&A followed.*2016: Was a surprise speaker at the Health Union employee conference in Philadelphia, PA. As the first contributor hired to write for any of HU\'s sites, I spoke about my chronic illnesses and what it\'s like to be a patient advocate.*20••••14: Served as the \"New Voices\" perspective for the Paz & Associates Bookstore Bootcamp Program. Spoke via Skype or in person twice a year to a group of prospective bookstore owners and managers about establishing a bookstore business.*2012, 2014: Participated on panels regarding alternative sources for raising capital at the annual American Booksellers Association\'s Winter Institute (first in New Orleans, then in Seattle):
