Janet is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (retired status) with 20 plus years of experience. She also brings to the client advanced certification in Board Governance with an Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D). In June of 2005 she left her position as VP of Human Resources for United Farmers of Alberta and in 2006 incorporated Salopek & Associates Ltd. Consulting assignments for Janet in the past 19 years have primarily involved board governance, workforce planning as well as attraction and retention strategies utilizing best and emerging human resource practices. Janet currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Association for the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured (ARBI) and in the past has sat on the Board of Directors for Tourism Calgary as Chair of the HR & Governance Committee; Youth Link as Chair of the HR & Governance Committee; Calgary Immigrant Women\'s Association (CIWA) and Human Resource Institute of Alberta (currently CPHR Alberta).
