I am currently the process guardian for Global Propulsion System PFMEAs and Control Plans. Additionally I review all new systems to determine our depth of PFMEA analysis on products and processes. I support the linkage of the DFMEA to the PFMEA. I support the creation of standardized work for the engineering community for Quality, Lessons Learned, and PFMEAs.

ABOUT JANET FARMER
I have worked the last 30 years in the automotive industry. I have worked in 6 manufacturing facitlities from a foundry, car and truck assembly plants, transmission assembly and engine / transmission machining operations. I have been a production supervisor, maintenance supervisor to a Quality Manager. I worked in Personnel and worked with the Labor Relations group. Additionally I spent two years at NUMMI the joint venture with Toyota and General Motors. I had the opportunity to go to Japan and visit many of the Toyota operations. In the two year I learned and taught much of the Toyota Production System. Since I have been travelling Globally to assess the manufacturing operations in Latin America, Mexico, China and Korea. I would like to continue to learn and teach the elimination of waste. Every operation can be improved. Many of the skills that I have in manufacturing and the supporting functions are transferable to any operation. I have spent the last two years implementing the PFMEA process in truck assembly. I have analyzed many warranty issues, and have implemented error proofing to prevent further defects. Specialties: Teaching, assessing, negotiating with the union, Value Stream Mapping, Business Plan Deployment, problem solving with root cause analysis, error proofing, waste elimination and continuous improvement.
