I have a dual role at Barnett Waddingham:> I lead our Business Development team, and > work on client projects as a Corporate Actuary.Two years ago I took on the leadership of our Business Development team. I\'ve been involved in BD for most of my career and this role provides me with opportunity to drive growth at Barnett Waddingham whilst sharing my knowledge and experience with others. It is an exciting time for us as we evolve and grow even more strongly as part of Howden. Alongside this role I still provide employers and other benefit sponsors with strategic advice in relation to pension and benefit matters. I focus on listening to what is important for our client\'s growth and development to identify how we might adapt or innovate how we work together. This role also provides an excellent springboard for identifying broader areas for innovation which actuarial skills can support.I am a member of the West Midlands CBI council which adds to my business insight. And to let off steam after a busy week I play hockey - predominantly a defender although I do like to make a break to the other end of the pitch and have a shot on goal from time to time.
