Lots of businesses begin with a crazy idea… and mine was no exception.Twelve years ago, I was living in NYC working as a jazz clarinetist and saxophonist. And while I loved performing music (and always will), something was missing from my life. What was it?I longed to help the people around me in a more tangible way.So one day, in my drafty Brooklyn studio apartment, I sat down at my desk and made a list of the things I thought I could be good at and that I would enjoy doing. Although I didn’t know it that day, this list would change my life.My list included a lot of far-fetched ideas, but perhaps the craziest of all were the two words: web design. While I had only dabbled in it back in high school, a voice inside told me:“You would be great at this and you would love doing it.”If you\'re an entrepreneur yourself, I’m guessing this sounds familiar :)I dove in, worked hard, learned a lot of tough lessons, moved past failure after failure, and finally reached the success I was looking for.That is what we entrepreneurs do. We continue on because we believe we can make a difference.Then six years ago, I made another bold move. After a decade in NYC, with a thriving career as a jazz musician and a growing business as a web designer, I moved back to my hometown of Ann Arbor, MI. Although lots of people warned me that I was making a mistake in leaving the big city, I knew in my heart that it was the right thing for me.Without a doubt, relocating had its challenges at first, but after a year of unrelenting effort to connect with my new community and grow my business, things have fallen into place.Now I get to do what I love, both in creating unique websites and playing music. In the same way that I have made bold decisions in my life, through my work I help my clients to do the same.
