ABOUT JANELA HARRIS

Janela earned a BA in Anthropology from Haverford College, where she took full advantage of the liberal arts curriculum, enrolling in everything from linguistics to documentary film-making. Outside of academics, Janela was a leader in student government, played rugby, and began working in admissions as a Senior Interviewer. After graduating, Janela enjoyed working in the Haverford Admission Office for 3 more years, carrying out the responsibilities of a highly selective admissions process. After progressing to Assistant Director of Admission, Janela relocated to Portland, Oregon and transitioned to medical school admissions. In addition to regular graduate school admission work, Janela initiated diversity recruitment and accepted an invitation to serve on the Council for Diversity and Inclusion. After 5 years in Admissions, Janela came to Crimson because she missed working in undergraduate admissions, and she enjoys being on the student\'s side of the process. Having worked with over 80 students, Janela has experience supporting students in fields like engineering, law, pre-med, and architecture. She has guided students to admission at Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, Penn/Wharton, Caltech, Brown, UChicago, Berkeley, UCLA and more. Janela brings a genuine enthusiasm for college admissions and love of connecting with people to her work as a Principal Strategist & Former Admission Officer.
