School leadership is a rewarding but tough job. It’s even more difficult when you work in a challenging school with the added pressure of Ofsted results, managing tight budgets, navigating HR issues, thinking creatively about staffing and handling all the other unexpected curve balls that come your way. I remember receiving the call telling me that I’d been successful for my first Headteacher role and bursting into tears as the fear kicked in: What if I can’t do the role? What if it goes wrong? How on earth do I manage a whole school budget! 15 years later, I’m now in my second headship, leading a wonderful primary school that has experienced a remarkable journey of transformation. I have had the privilege of working with some incredible pupils and staff who never cease to amaze me with their hard work, dedication and incredible sense of fun. ’. On the way I suffered from impostor syndrome and a lack of confidence. Constantly overwhelmed and overworked, I neglected family and friends, made no time for self-care and spent more days crying than laughing. I was so determined to succeed as a Headteacher that I sacrificed my health and wellbeing and lost sight of who I was. It got to the point where if something didn’t change – and fast – I would have no choice but to leave the education profession that I loved so much. Can you relate? Through coaching, I went from surviving to thriving in my headship and learnt how to lean into my full potential and lead from a place of clarity and authenticity. I fell in love with coaching so much so that I decided to implement it as a culture within my school. I also trained as a qualified coach, with an ILM 5 & 7 Certificate in Coaching and an NLP Diploma. I now provide Headteachers and senior school leaders with support to become the best leader you can be, without sacrificing or losing yourself in the process- “Since becoming more strategic through Jane\'s coaching, I have developed a fantastic rapport with my middle leadership team and I\'ve noted an increase in their confidence and knowledge as leaders too.
