About Jane Webre

I handle all sorts of appellate matters in Texas state and federal courts. I am also deeply committed to the scholarly aspects of appellate law practice. I have been board certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1996 and also served on the exam commission for certification. I am a Fellow in the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. I am an elected member of the American Law Institute, which is the entity that publishes the Restatements of Law. And I am a frequent author and speaker on appellate law topics. These activities are more than just serious appellate dweeb credentials (though they are that!). Staying up on new developments in the law, and regularly analyzing those developments with other appellate dweebs, helps me noodle through and figure out thorny legal issues. And that is exactly what appellate practice is all about.
