ABOUT JANE TINGAY

I have a wide range of experience in both the UK and Australia. I have completed two degrees, a Bachelor of Engineering and a Masters of Engineering Science. During my career I have been involved in range of projects in coastal engineering and management, and flood risk management and modelling. My expertise in coastal engineering and management have mainly been gained in Australia, which includes wave, hydraulic, and sediment transport assessments. However, I have worked on a range of projects in the UK, including Coastal Strategy Plan. I have a keen passion to further my expertise in Coastal management in the UK. I have been have been involved in a range of different types of projects in the UK including, Strategic Flood Risk Mapping projects, Catchment Flood Management Plans, Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (Strategic Flood Consequence Assessments), Flood Risk Assessment (Flood Consequence Assessments), Surface Water Management Plans, and more recently Project Appraisal Reports (PARs). I have experience using a number of modelling packages, including RMA, TUFLOW, ISIS and HECRAS. For a variety of disciplines, covering tidal, coastal and fluvial modelling. I have been involved in supporting and mentoring colleagues in a range of modelling project. I am Chartered with CWEM and the Environment Society. I quite regularly attended events with CIWEM and ICE. I also attended any talks about flooding and environmental issue about Bristol and the surrounding area. I have a great passion for the city I live in and I am very interested in the management of our city specifically in relations to flood risk.
