WORK HISTORY

Health and Wellness Business Owner @Emerald Therapies

Cahir, IE

Formerly a chef, I have owned my own business since September 2006 before changing the name and direction in my life in August of 2014, hence Emerald Therapies is now my passion. My life as a therapist started with Swedish massage in 2005, I loved it so much that I continued learning with several workshops such as Seated chair massage and trigger point therapy before learning about Reflexology with Kay Galbraith in St Mary’s university, Twickenham. I found then that I needed to learn more about remedial massage, so having learnt techniques with Jane Johnson already, I completed my Sports massage therapy diploma in 2008. Following on from that over the next few years came Hot stone massage, 3 levels of Myofascial Release and then Warm bamboo massage. During that time in 2012 I also went to Bangkok, Thailand to complete Thai yoga massage and loved every minute of learning there as well as the life experience it gave me. I then completed a certificate in Pregnancy massage in 2015, ScarWork in 2019 and am currently doing a diploma in TMJ Therapy which is so interesting as it is to do with the head, neck, and shoulders but actually, dis-ease in many parts of the body can be traced back to what is going on in your jaw as it is linked with the hips.I have listed my Therapies below but of course you can find much more about them on my website. ABOUT JANE STOKES

Helping busy, stressed professionals feel pain-free — with advanced massage, reflexology & scar work delivered flexibly.HOW CAN I HELP YOU?We seem to be busier than ever. Commutes to the office have been replaced by long days in the chair at home followed by ferrying the kids around, attending to their needs and finally we flop on the sofa. So much in that day and so little time to rest and take care of ourselves. Our body then gets fed up with us as we have taken on so much in our lives and brings up shoulder pain, lower back pain and other aches and pains. This is where I can help, by fitting in a massage for you at home while you are on your lunch break or even in a meeting where you can be off camera or in my treatment rooms in Cahir or Clonmel enabling you to get out of your house or office. PAST AND CURRENT CLIENTS: Using my experience as a care worker in Treloar college, Alton I was privileged to treat a young man with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis/ Lou Gehrig’s disease). I was contacted by the local council asking if I could help out of the blue. My client had lived with ALS for several years and having loved massage in the past they thought it might help. He found getting on the massage table too much after the first session so his treatment would be in his reclining or walker wherever he was most comfortable that day. Treatment moved from massage only to a combination of massage and stretching where benefits included pain relief and better sleeping patterns. Time with that client ended when I moved back here to Ireland.Other clients I have had include: an elderly lady with early onset of dementia, a busy senior manager who had meetings scheduled while he had his massage, along with a gentleman who had a prosthetic fitted on his left hip, which then popped out of the socket, I treated him before he had the initial operation, then while he was waiting for the prosthetic to be fixed and then with his rehabilitation from March 2015 to September 2015 every week. Further complications developed from lifting a cast iron bath at work in 2017, which lead to a team of three of us helping in 2018 which included a top osteopath treating him with craniosacral therapy, a physiotherapist and myself for a period of two months to get my client back to full health. He continued with me until he moved out of the area in that Summer. In short, I can treat a wide variety of clients with many different conditions and needs. I am passionate about helping clients to be pain, stress, and injury free.Contact me through the details in my banner
