ABOUT JANE SHIELDS
With a background in theatre and performance, I am a project manager, producer and fundraiser based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Over the past 15 years I have worked in a range of roles in a variety of settings including museums, galleries, theatres, charities, social enterprises, hospitals and universities as well as out and about in the community.I am meticulously organised with a flair for creative detail. I thrive on getting stuck into challenges and can hit the ground running. I get excited about complex problems that need creative solutions. I love creating business plans and strategies and seeing them through to fruition. I pride myself on my communication skills and enjoy working with other people.In 2015, I set up Sheffield Creative Guild, a membership cooperative for creatives of all persuasions in the city to connect, find support and promote their work. For 7 years we provided events, exhibitions, gigs, maker markets, training courses, a mentoring programme, a skills swap timebank and much more. Due to the pandemic and then the cost of living crisis the Guild\'s business model became unsustainable and in August 2022 the Guild closed its doors.I am Chair of Trustees for Concerteenies, a Trustee for Ignite Imaginations and a Board Director for Bloom Sheffield CIC. I also have previous board experience with Sheffield Culture Consortium and as Chair of Bright Box Makerspace.
