Jane LeMond-Alvarez is a child abuse expert and former crime analyst from the Oxnard Police Department. She is a published author of the true stories : Blinders and Where’s Mario, a public speaker, as well as a wife, mother and grandmother. Jane has dedicated her life to stopping child abuse. Jane and her husband Leo work as activists to be a part of the solution. They write and speak about child abuse custody issues. They are part of an on-going national campaign to make legislative changes that would end the return of abused children to their abusers. Abused children nationwide are being returned to their abusive parents on an epidemic level. According to the California Youth and Correctional Agency, more than California children are reported abused every year. Authorities estimate that as many as half of all abuse cases go unreported and about half of those reported are not investigated. If we had cases of measles, an army of health officials would be on the job to halt the epidemic. Jane questions why our nation’s children do not receive the same attention.
