ABOUT JANE HOTCHKISS
Jane Hotchkiss has spent 30 years in the renewable and climate energy space, beginning in CA in the late 80’s working with former regulatory staff, renewable CEOs, and environmental leaders focused on building markets for the renewable industry. She brought her passion for carbon free energy with her to Boston and Boulder, founding renewables advocacy at both the Conservation Law Foundation and the Land and Water Fund of the Rockies. She went on to co-found the Clean Air Task Force, developing a national field of foundation supported pro renewable/anti-coal campaigns. From campaigns and policies, she moved to megawatts (MWs) as lead clean air and climate consultant to PG & E on the Madison Wind Project and their national energy team. In 2012 in MA, she hit a climate change reality when, as the Managing Director of CEI solar with site control and full JPMorgan project, financing their groundbreaking 30 MW Municipal solar project was rejected in favor of short-term fossil fuel contracts. If solar at a utility scale was too much for MA in 2012, how was humanity going to meet climate change’s required non-carbon energy needs, soon enough to make a difference? Fusion Energy and its promise of energy steady state, safe, zero carbon energy supply became Jane’s focus. This time her advocacy leads with education of all gatekeepers whose fusion fluency will determine the speed of its green impact on power markets. With ECG, she dedicates her expertise to fusion’s social licensing process: preparing the external world to believe in, invest in, license, and regulate fusion. After six years as an elected Select Board member in Concord, MA, Jane is now devoting all her energies to ECG’s mission.
