ABOUT JANE EVANS

I’m a Managing Scientist in Exponent’s Human Health group, specializing in non‑dietary risk assessment for plant protection products, biocides, and industrial chemicals. I apply a wide range of human health exposure models, including the latest EFSA online calculator for plant protection products (EFSA, 2022. My higher‑tier data expertise includes dermal absorption and dislodgeable foliar residue (DFR) studies—from study generation and monitoring to evaluation. I also support product safety and regulatory compliance under REACH, including risk assessments when non‑compliance is identified. I evaluate toxicology datasets and advise on acute toxicity, classification of and biocides, and data requirements for co‑formulants. I can provide early stage hazard screening of formulations. I’ve worked on whole‑dossier compilations for and biocide submissions, including writing Biological Assessment Dossiers (BADs) to substantiate product effectiveness. I design and appraise systematic literature searches for regulatory submissions to ensure completeness and relevance. Before consulting, I spent 10+ years at a contract research organisation (CRO) conducting, monitoring, and evaluating effectiveness and crop safety field trials—giving me practical, hands‑on insight into farm equipment and agronomic practices. At Exponent, I serve as a QMS representative for the European offices, working to ISO 9001:2015 and helping maintain consistent, high‑quality processes across our teams.
