ABOUT JAY T.

I am a health and social care leader with a strong track record of growing and improving multi-site, dual-registered care services through a rare blend of clinical credibility, commercial judgement, and people-centred leadership. As Nominated Individual to the Care Quality Commission across a large portfolio of homes, I am directly accountable for regulatory assurance, quality, operational performance, and risk across thousands of beds and colleagues.My career spans more than 15 years, progressing from front-line to senior leadership. That full journey gives me a practical understanding of what it takes to move services from operational strain to consistent regulatory compliance, stronger performance, and sustainable growth. I have led service improvement at scale, supported the opening and development of new service provisions, and built high-performing teams that deliver safe, commercially sound, and person-centred care.In 2024, I was named Regional Director of the Year. In 2025, my pioneering falls reduction work received the Nursing in Social Care award at the Nursing Times Awards, recognising the impact of nurse-led innovation in improving resident safety and outcomes. Alongside operational leadership, I write for academic and professional journals, mentor future care leaders, and remain deeply engaged in shaping the sector\'s direction.My academic background reflects the same balance of rigour and ambition that defines my leadership. I hold a PhD, an MBA with Distinction, a degree in Nursing, and a postgraduate certificate in healthcare leadership from Harvard Medical School. This combination of nursing expertise and business acumen allows me to lead with both compassion and commercial focus, with a clear ambition to grow services, strengthen quality, and build resilient, future-facing care businesses.Beyond my day role, I co-founded Filipinos in Care, a national initiative supporting ethnically diverse professionals into leadership within the care sector and also serve voluntarily as NED in a charitable organisation. I am passionate about building organisations that are safer, fairer, and more ambitious in how they deliver care and grow.
