ABOUT JANAYA LAVALAIS
Janaya Lavalais is an effective communicator, a team player, and an all-around go-getter. After interning with Bank of America in 2018 and graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor in Business Administration (B.B.A) in Management Information Systems (MIS) and a minor in Marketing in May 2019, Janaya decided to join Bank of America full-time in July 2019 as a member of the Global Technology Analyst Program in New York City. In August 2021, Janaya was promoted to Officer; Software Engineer within Bank of America. In February 2022, Janaya was promoted to Assistant Vice President; Technology Delivery Lead within Bank of America. In addition to her studies & work experience, Janaya has held multiple leadership positions within her community. She was chosen as a 2021 Out & Equal Diverse Leader Fellow, has been a featured speaker at the Out & Equal 2020 and 2021 Workplace Summit on behalf of Bank of America, and was recognized by the McCombs BBA Programs Office with the Texas BBA Our Best Student Leadership award in May 2018 for her contributions to the Red McCombs School of Business.Janaya is passionate about social justice issues and is an active member of Bank of America\'s Employee Networks and, as of January 2021, Leads the Communications team within the LGBTQ+ NYC Metro Chapter. As of March 2023, Janaya is also a member of the LGBTQ+ Enterprise Training Team which drives LGBTQ+ education globally. Janaya has a special interest in how consumer behavior drives technology decisions and hopes to explore UI/UX design in the future. In her free time, Janaya is an aspiring cruciverbalist, live music fanatic, and Doc Martens enthusiast.
