ABOUT JANANI JAYALAKSHMI

I’ve always been drawn to the kind of technology that makes life easier for people, and that’s what led me toward AI engineering. My journey started with a research internship at NIT Trichy, where I built Aura, a disaster-response system powered by a bilingual NLP engine capable of visually interpreting over 90 real-time emergency commands. Seeing something I built help people act faster in stressful situations made me realize how meaningful thoughtful AI can be.Since then, I’ve been exploring the space where practical software engineering meets applied AI. I enjoy working end-to-end—understanding a problem, designing a clean technical approach, and building something reliable. My foundation in DSA, algorithms, and object-oriented design helps me think structurally, while my experience across Generative AI, RAG, NLP, ML pipelines, cloud-scaled deployment, and computer vision lets me bring ideas to life. Programs like Stanford’s Code in Place and my AWS Cloud Architecting training have further shaped the way I reason about scalable systems and write cleaner, more intentional software.Along the way, I’ve worked on projects like a Graph Neural Network for molecular toxicity prediction and DastaavezAi, a multimodal assistant designed to make legal and administrative documents easier to understand. Each project has taught me something different about usability, clarity, and building systems that hold up beyond the prototype stage.I’m currently interning at FLSmidth, where I’m applying ML and computer vision in industrial contexts—strengthening both my analytical and product-building skills. Earlier, at Invisibl Cloud, I worked on improving RAG reliability and understanding how enterprise AI behaves in real-world scenarios.Right now, I’m looking to grow into a full-time role where I can contribute to well-designed, human-centric AI systems while continuing to sharpen my software engineering foundations.
