ABOUT JANA THOMPSON
I am a dedicated and ambitious Chemical Engineering student at North Carolina State University, with a concentration in Sustainable Energy and the Environment and a minor in Sustainable Materials Technology. My academic journey is complemented by hands-on experience in the field, including internships at Southern Company Gas and Wolfspeed. As the Vice President of the Society of Women Engineers at NCSU, I am passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM. My leadership roles have allowed me to develop strong organizational and communication skills, which I apply in both my academic and professional endeavors. I am currently working as a Renewable Natural Gas Intern at Southern Company Gas, where I am excited to contribute to innovative projects and learn from industry experts. My previous experience as a Process Engineering Intern at Wolfspeed and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at NC State College of Engineering has equipped me with a solid foundation in semiconductor process technology and thin film deposition. I am eager to continue expanding my knowledge and skills in chemical engineering, with a focus on sustainable energy solutions. I am open to part-time intern roles for the upcoming semester and full-time opportunities following my Spring 2026 graduation that will allow me to make a meaningful impact in the field.
