ABOUT JANA BAUMGARTNER
I build and fix the things that determine whether a product scales - or loses users before they ever get started. At Kraken I\'m leading the turnaround of global onboarding and KYC: redefining strategy, rebuilding a 9-person senior PM team, and shipping across identity verification and regulated market entry worldwide. Before this, I launched crypto trading at Trade Republic from zero to 1 million users in five months - and took a Series A Index Ventures backed startup from MVP to multi-market in under two years. The through-line: I work on the parts of fintech that are genuinely hard to get right - high regulatory complexity, high user drop-off risk, high stakes if you get it wrong. My background in financial risk consulting at Deloitte and PwC means I\'m fluent in that environment. But the goal is always the same: make something complex feel simple for the user. I\'ve led cross-functional teams across early-stage startups, hypergrowth scaleups, and one of the world\'s largest crypto exchanges.
