ABOUT JAN MATAUSCHEK
I am a commercial real estate lawyer based in Hamburg. I advise domestic and international investors, developers, financial institutions, and public-sector organisations throughout the full lifecycle of real estate transactions. My work often centres on special situations and complex, multi-stakeholder projects, and I also support investment funds on regulatory matters. Before joining Freshfields, I worked in management consulting and later served as Head of Advisory at a merchant banking firm. In these roles, I advised financial institutions and major corporates on portfolio and asset-management strategies and supported real estate investment funds with product launches and capital-raising initiatives. In my legal practice, I focus on delivering clear, practical guidance that combines commercial understanding with an interdisciplinary approach.
