ABOUT JAN MALTE LICHTENBERG
I am an applied scientist (machine learning) working on recommender systems for music and other streaming media. My current research is about offline policy evaluation (evaluate the quality of a ranking system based on historical data logged by a different ranking system) and learning-to-rank across different content types. I received my PhD in machine learning from the University of Bath, UK, working at the intersection of reinforcement learning and human decision making. I have a background in mathematical statistics and economics and have always enjoyed working on free-lance machine learning projects during my studies. These projects included the end-to-end development of machine-learning models and their implementation in real-world products.
