ABOUT JAN MACAJ
I would like to present myself as a Structural Integrity Engineer. Currently, I am focusing on the Project Management side of the engineering spectrum. Smith\'s John Crane allowed me to broaden my focus. I am an expert user of software programs such as Classic Ansys (APDL) or/and Workbench, Abaqus, and CFX/Fluent for fluid calculations. With my 17 years of professional working experiences in Mechanical Engineering, I have carried out a number of projects with challenging timescales, particularly focused on thermal, fatigue, and stress calculations using various finite element software, fluid flow, and optimization as well as hand calculations. While working on varied projects with different clients and industries, I always needed to follow particular standards such as API, ASME, CODAP, or British Standard. I have developed the knowledge of FEM (Finite Element Method) and Fatigue as well as their application to various industrial areas such as steam/gas/wind turbines and aerospace. I have gained the ability to calculate CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) during my employment at Alstom Power as an Engineering Tools Specialist. I also have been able to extend my skills into a number of FEM software tools such as Rolls-Royce SC03, Siemens Nx, or Abaqus and as well as a variety of manufacturing principles. My working experiences at Alstom Power as a Mechanical Methods Engineer and Stress Analyst, enabled me being able to deal with complex physics of fluid and structural interaction. I have been able to comprehensively develop and validate accurate numerical simulation methodologies to identify the source of failure of the specific part of the condenser. Even some technical challenges I faced during this project led me to get nominated as an Excellent Mechanical Engineer with \'Innovative Idea\'.I am a multi-lingual person who is able to speak and communicate in three different languages (Slovak, English and German). I am willing to work proactively and highly committed to personal development and regular updating my knowledge and skills. I am also keen on making a positive contribution to where I am belonging.
